Public Consultation: EU Invites Comments on Review of Package Travel Directive

The European Commission has opened a public consultation for the revision of the Package Travel Directive [(EU) 2015/2302].

Citizens and the broader community of stakeholders are invited to share their thoughts.

The Commission is seeking information from parties who may have an interest or expertise in the Package Travel Directive through the public consultation. The Commission is curious about their experiences, thoughts, and opinions regarding the application of current rules, as well as the potential consequences of future action possibilities.

Individuals who use travel services; consumer organizations, such as passenger rights organizations; and traders (including SMEs) and relevant business associations, such as package travel organisers (tour operators, online and off-line travel agencies, carriers, hotels, and so on) and/or retailers are all relevant stakeholders at the EU level (in particular online and off-line travel agencies).

Questionnaires are accessible here and are available in some or all official EU languages.

The public consultation session will finish on May 10th (midnight Brussels time).
